Patrick is a full-time fine artist and live event painter whose strong emotional response to people, landscape, and nature are conveyed in his paintings. He attended Center for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit, earned his Master of Arts from Wayne State University, Detroit, and is an award-winning painter as well as having been a college professor. Patrick won the Gold Medal for painting at the Contemporary Art Contest, Mackinac Art Museum, Mackinac Island. He has juried exhibitions at The Scarab Club in Detroit, Crooked Tree Arts Center, and Charlevoix Circle of Arts, and exhibits both nationally and internationally.
Patrick spent several years employed by the Detroit Institute of Arts, and acted as Curator and Juror for the DIA's education exhibitions from 2010 to 2015. He has led portrait workshops at Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) in conjunction with Alex Melamid.
Patrick’s artwork is in the permanent collection at Children's Hospital of Detroit in addition to numerous private art collections throughout the U.S. A native of Petoskey, Michigan, he is a full time resident of Harbor Springs, Michigan, and is inspired by people and places for his work.
